    Features

    I'm far from GARDEN variety.

Supertunia® Mini Vista petunias are vigorous with slightly mounded habits that function as both fillers and spillers in containers.  They are also excellent landscape plants best suited to be placed near the front of beds.  They have small flowers.

    Maintenance Notes:

These are heat tolerant plants, that aren't particularly fussy and need little routine maintenance. They will perform best if an application of controlled release fertilizer is included at the time of planting. This applies to both landscape and container plantings. Supertunias are heavy feeders, but a single dose is usually sufficient for landscape beds in most climates. If you have a very long season, a second application of controlled release plant food should be considered for landscape plantings. In general, containers need to be fed more than landscape plants. Supertunias in containers will need to be fed more regularly to be their absolute best. A second application of a controlled release fertilizer can be applied about every two months to container plants, which will help. However, for the very best performance I find regularly applying water soluble fertilizer starting about two months after the containers are planted gives the best results.  These extra applications of plant food really makes a difference in performance through the summer.

If your plant begins to look open or a bit tired, an allover trim can be beneficial.  Use a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears to trim back up to 1/3 of the volume of the plant. I pair any trim with a dose of water soluble fertilizer to provide instant energy to help kickstart new growth, branching and flowering. Your plant will take a week to recover from the trim, but the end result is a fuller plant with more blooms going forward. You may repeat the trim as needed through the season.

    • Based on the picture, the color of this flower appeared different than Superbells® Pink Calibrachoa hybrid, but when I received my order today I was surprised to see there's not much difference in the color of the two. Granted there was barely a couple of flowers on my supertunia mini vista. I order a lot of flowers from PW but I was quite disappointed in the quality of supertunia mini vista they sent me. Some of the branches in two of the containers were yellowish and not healthy looking plants overall. It doesn't seem because of the 3 days of travel, but rather the person who individually picked those plants to ship it to me. Message to staff: if you are not going to buy it for yourself at any nursery, don't send it to customers. I would have picked healthier plants than what was sent to me. Greatly disappointed considering I have spent quite a lot of money on PW, purchasing from both my husband's account and my own. I spent $284.25 so far and still have to purchase flowers for my new landscape. It's extremely disappointing when my expectations are not met.

    • Planted these in tall urns last spring and performed better than any plant I have ever used. Continuous reblooming , only requiring periodic trim to maintain fullness. Biggest surprise has been that they have survived a zone 8 winter with temps in the high 20's on numerous occasions, even after being frozen to ground level. Performed as a perennial instead of an annual. I'm a committed buyer from now on! Can't wait to buy more this spring to use in many locations in my garden. Wish they were more readily available for purchase at local nurseries. I have to travel over an hour to purchase.

    • An update to my previous review - I treated for pests and fungus, and a few weeks later they were beautiful! I did have to repeatedly treat for fungus and pests over the rest of the summer.

    • This is the most bloom for the longest period of time of any annual I have ever grown! I put 3 in the ground in May and they have mounded to form a short hedge 9 feet in length. It is now October and they look like they will make it to frost. Usually I would have replaced my front flowers with fall mums by now, but these super bells just won't quit!
