    Features

Superbena Pink Cashmere verbena have great vigor, awesome branching and wonderful summer performance. The soft soothing shades of pink verbena flowers are clustered in large umbels that cover the deep green foliage.

These pastel pink verbena flowers in Superbena captured our attention with its delicate flower color, extremely vigorous growth, and huge umbels that rival Superbena Whiteout and Violet Ice in size.

It was able to keep up well in combinations with the new Supertunia petunias which, like Superbena® Pink Cashmere verbena, are some of the most vigorous cultivars in the series. Mounded trailing plants produce loads of continuous blooms all season without deadheading. Like all Superbena verbena, it meets our extremely high standards for powdery mildew resistance.

    Uses Notes:

Superbena verbena are great in landscape beds, but are also wonderful in patio planters and hanging baskets by themselves. They also make a wonderful spiller in combination recipes.

    Maintenance Notes:

Superbena® verbena plants are easy to grow and will flower non-stop from planting to frost if simple maintenance tasks are performed. Growing Superbena in full sun to part sun is important for their strong growth and bloom performance. They do not require deadheading, meaning the removal of spent flowers, to stay in bloom all season.

These heat tolerant annuals typically require a bit less water and feeding than many kinds of flowering annuals. If your garden soil is very heavy and tends to stay soggy for a while after it rains, plant your Superbena verbena in a container instead of in the ground. Let the soil dry out a little bit between waterings, but do not let the plants wilt severely before watering again.

Superbena performs best when fed with Proven Winners plant foods. At planting time, in containers and landscapes, mix Proven Winners Premium Continuous Release Plant Food into the soil, following the rates specified on the packaging. In containers, reapply halfway through the growing season. In the ground, a single application in spring is typically sufficient.

Additionally, Superbena verbena should be fed with Proven Winners Premium Water Soluble Plant Food every ten days to two weeks according to the rates specified on the packaging.

Superbena does not require much trimming to keep it looking great all season. If you’d like your plants to have a fuller, bushier shape, trim up to 20% off the ends of the stems midseason. Follow up by feeding them with water soluble plant food to promote fresh new growth and blooms.

    • This is second summer I’ve tried Cashmere. It is behaving the same way this summer as it did last year. It is lovely in May and June, but really struggles with the heat of July and August. Stops producing new blooms and needs water 2x a day to keep leaves from crisping up. Still caring for it because it does come back for September and August when heat backs off.

    • I'm 2 months in to the growing season and have had one bloom on each of two plants I purchased and no new blooms in sight. I'm closer to part sun than full sun, so maybe that's the issue. Disappointing though!

    • This is the most prolific verbena ever! It’s absolutely gorgeous. And yes, it does need deadheading. I deadhead all verbenas. This plant is a must have! Here it is going into late September and it’s as gorgeous as ever. Don’t let it dry out. Keep it evenly moist.

    • I got my pink cashmere superbenas at the garden center because I loved the color. These things got HUGE. Easily 3' by 3'. I love them in my deck containers. But, they have to be deadheaded. I usually avoid verbena because of deadheading needs. Thought these would keep me from that tedious task, but they didn't. Even so I will use them in my big pots next year too.

    • I bought this plant in May. It had 2-3 blooms at the time. It has never had a single bloom since, not even a flower bud. I fertilize, Ive moved it to other locations. Still nothing mid-July. Very disappointed.
