Hot Chana Japanese maple experiences dramatic color changes throughout the growing season. Its foliage emerges bright red; over time, the interior foliage softens to a dusty green, but the tips stay red. In the fall, the red makes a triumphant return. Its color show certainly turns heads! As an own-root variety (instead of a tree trunk that is grafted onto the roots of a different tree), it requires less worry. It adds a striking, low-maintenance focal point to any landscape.
Top three reasons to grow Hot Chana Japanese maple:
- Year-round color changes
- Useful size
- Brilliant fall show

Doesn't need regular pruning, but if you'd like you can shape it a bit in the springtime. Avoid any regular pruning, as this could negatively impact the beautiful shrubby habit it develops.Hot Chana™ Acer palmatum ''JWW7'' USPP 30
