White Knight is cold tolerant and heat tolerant. He is also a "heavy drinker" and will prefer evenly moist soil. It will be quick to show drought stress, but should bounce back quickly once re-hydrated. In a hanging basket you should be prepared to water often, maybe more than once a day during warm weather. Plants are easier to keep moist when planted in large planters. Due to water needs White Knight is ideal for use in larger planters. In containers an application of continuous release fertilizer at planting is best. To help maximize performance use applications of a well-balanced water-soluble fertilizer (according to package directions) starting in mid-summer.

White Knight will also perform well in the landscape where she will function as an annual, full sun, groundcover.

While plants shouldn't need to be trimmed back, if the plant is taking over your walkway or is looking less than the best a trim can be administered at anytime. Use a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears as needed.

A yearly application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance.

The collection of Lobularia from Proven Winners® has quickly gained in popularity since being introduced in recent years. These plants continue to win awards for their unique tolerance to heat and their extended season performance.

    • Order 2, 1 quart size, got them yesterday, barely any root development, look like they just germinated. Saw quart size at Home Depot today for $5.89 and plants were exactly what you’d expect for a quart. Why does ordering form proven winner direct charge almost double for no roots?

    • The White Alyssums are the ones that smell really sweet. I don't see any bees or butterflies at it but that's alright because I have so many other nectar plants. But the little tiny bees and other small insects like it. So it does attract SOME pollinators.

    • I have this plant in a mixed container at my front door. I planted the container in the early spring when it was still cool outside. The planter contained, in addition to "White Knight", creeping jenny and pansies. The pansies have now been replaced with nasturtiums and the "White Knight" has filled out the top of the pot and looks great falling over the pot and topping the creeping jenny.
