Two years ago I purchased two Zinfin doll, my first hydrangea. They are big, bold and beautiful! They are now each 5' tall and 3' wide with large floppy flowers, turning from green to white to rusty pink. I trim them back by 1/3 the first week of May. They winter beautifully in MN harsh climate. I've purchased Bobo and Invincibelle mini mauvett to try this year. I can't wait for them to arrive!!

Pink and white two-toned blooms!
A beautiful new hardy hydrangea with loads of bodacious blooms that emerge pure white and then turn bright pink from the bottom up. Flowers eventually age to a dark pink-red, and stay colorful for months. It looks a bit like classic Pinky Winky hydrangea, but with full, mophead flowers, and it blooms much earlier, too. Strong stems hold the flowers upright in the garden, and make it an excellent cut flower, too.

Maintenance Notes:Panicle hydrangeas are super easy and reliable. In cold climates, they should get a minimum of six hours of sun each day; in hot areas, morning sun and afternoon shade are best. These are shallow-rooted plants that really benefit from a 2-3" (5-7.6 cm) layer of mulch.
As for pruning, plan to cut these plants back by about one-third in early spring. This builds up a strong base while encouraging vigorous new growth to produce lots of blooms.

NJ grower. My Zinfin Doll is going on its third year in a large container. It sits in a part sun/part shade area. This past summer it has reached about two feet tall with strong stems. The magic of the plant is when it turns pink near the end of the summer. I also leave the flowers on in the winter for interest when it snows. I only prune in the early spring a few inches to get the height I am looking to reach. The goldfinch bird likes to sit underneath it and that makes it extra special for photos.

I grow dozens of Hydrangeas and I've been very impressed with this one. The flowers are huge, but more importantly, the stems are sturdy enough to hold those flowers up. There are other varieties of paniculata Hydrangeas in my yard that I can't say the same thing about. I love how the flowers of Zinfin Doll are white in July, and then turn pink from the bottom up in August. It's a spectacular plant in my garden and I only wish that I could post a photo on this review to show how beautiful it is.

Absolutely beautiful. I planted them in 100% full Sun all day and they are magical! I love them. Year 2 and the blooms are prolific and huge! I measured many at almost 12in long! Absolutely lovely.

Please remember.... hydrangeas take a while to get themselves sorted out... First year, they sleep - second year, they creep, third year they leap - and are fabulous. This has been my experience with all hydrangeas. Give them time and don't give up on them - they will perform once they get situated Make sure you prune appropriately so that your stalks have a chance to become strong and thick enough to hold up the blooms. Patience is a virtue and these won't disappoint.

These plants were two feet when I bought them and without and blooms. Beautiful flowers emerged mid-summer and the blooms were huge! The only problem was the plant did not seem to grown and the stems were weighed down by these massive blooms. Hopefully they will perform better this summer or I will have to remove them. I don't want a floppy hydrangea.
