    Maintenance Notes:

Blue My Mind loves hot weather, in fact, the hotter the better! It will perform best in full sun and needs to be protected from even light frost. It is drought tolerant, once it is established. Plants do need to be watered well for several weeks during root establishment. While the plants can withstand drought conditions, growth and flowering are better with consistent moisture. Deadheading is unnecessary. A good dose of compost or slow release fertilizer will improve performance.

    • Outstanding plant. Beautiful blue flowers dotted with white centers and blue green foliage. They flower non-stop and stay tidy. They're growing gloriously in a planter on my sunny southward facing front porch, sharing planter space with purple and yellow wishbone flowers and their lighter green foliage. What a contrast. So eye catching. Blue my mind has proven to be easy to grow and maintain, It behaves itself well and doesn't hang too far from the planter top, it branches out over the planter side a few inches on sturdy stems, but not downward. I wish this were a perennial in my zone (7b) 'cause I would have an entire bed devoted to this stunner as well as it's cousin, the blue daze. I found these at my local Lowes. What a beautiful surprise they turned out to be. i will be looking for them again next season.

Above Average Superior performance, among my favorites, would recommend to others.
    • This is one of the most beautiful plants I have ever grown. The flower are small, delicate, and impossibly pretty. We have shallow, long planters sitting on the rails of our patio. After trying many flowers and various combinations, this plant is the only one we now grow in them. The plants get beat on by the sun for most of the day and are constantly full of the small, rich blue flowers. There is no need for any dead heading. The low maintenance is fantastic. Having some trial and error with the plants, I have some observations. They do creep a good bit and fill in thick, so do not be tempted to overcrowd. They do better with some space to grow into. Maybe related to this, I've never had any reach the height in the product description. It is a leggy plant and it flops over more than grows up. It does not hang down over the sides of our planters, but prefers to kind of stick out and swoop back up, so do not expect dramatic draping. Some hang lower, but it is not a plant that is going to cascade down out of a pot or planter, if that is what you are after. It also says the plants are drought resistant. In my experience, if they get stressed to the point of a good wilting, they will survive. However, all the flowers will pop off, and it will be a couple weeks until new ones grow back. For this reason, we are very careful to keep them well watered. It is worth the attention and toting the watering can, though. We get these every year and will continue to do so. I wish I could post a pic to share!

    • This is a show stopper in our flower bed. It was so beautiful, I took out the other plants that were in that dedicated space and just let it grow. I'm in zone 8b in north Texas. We occasionally get hard freezes, but this beauty doesn't care even though I didn't cover it. Also, it is not in full sun - it only gets morning sun.

    • This is one of my favorite plants for overall performance in containers. I have a soft spot for blues, and this true blue color stays and plays all season long. It is especially beautiful when paired with a white flower, such as diamond frost euphorbia or a white lantana or verbena. Also pairs well with the soft yellows of calibrachoa, such as yellow chiffon. Reading the other reviews, I am definitely going to try to overwinter it here in zone 8b and add to my collection next year! Thank you, Proven Winners for another outstanding plant for our gardens!

    • Love Blue My Mind! I'm in zone 8 and brought a couple of containers into my garage to winter over. I was so surprised that this came back so strongly. I've been feeding it and it has been blooming constantly. You could say it is blowing my mind with the long lasting true blue blooms!

    • I live in zone 8b and I planted these annuals last year and they have all come back this year. So great. Having a mild winter helped I'm sure. I love those kind of surprises and blessings to my budget.

    • I bought this plant in the fall a 2018 and I overwintered it outside in Savannah Georgia. I thought I might have killed her but it stayed green and I cleaned it up about a month ago added some fertilizer and it has started blooming again and new leaves are popping up on all of it stems. I can't wait to see it come into full bloom.

    • Still looks lovely even though I have not been the best at keeping up with water during several dry spells.

    • 1 of 3 died. The other 2 are alive and green, but not growing and no flowers have bloomed in the 9 weeks since planting. Very disappointing.
