    Features

This salvia is one of the best garden plants you can add to your garden. It will shrug off heat and humidity and just keep flowering. The flowers are pink to fuchsia with a black calyx and very deep green foliage. It tops out at about 2 feet, perfectly sized for containers and great for the front to the middle of beds and as a thriller in pots.

    Maintenance Notes:

This is a wonderful annual Salvia (except in frost free zones, where it is perennial) compact and richly colored it is easy and trouble free. It is sterile so it will not set seed and that means it will just bloom, and bloom all season without stopping.

You can easily trim the plant to keep the shape or size where you want it, and it will branch out and become even thicker and more full of flowers.

Regular watering and fertilizing will keep the plant at maximum color and growth but it is amazingly tough and once established in a pot of the garden will tolerate lower levels of food and water. However, severe drought will cause lower leaves to drop. If this happens give it a quick haircut removing the upper 1/3 of growth and once it back to normal watering it will fill back in.

    • I saw this plant in my local farm’s greenhouse last year and hummingbirds were all over it. I vowed I would get it this year and did. I planted it yesterday on my deck where I can see it from my family room. This morning while I was having my coffee I saw my hummingbird having his morning sip at the salvia. I am really looking forward to bird watching this summer.

    • I've never seen a plant attract hummingbirds like this one! The area of the Garden Center where we had these for sale was constantly buzzing with them!

    • This plant is a stunner! I was lucky enough to snag some that were in great shape off the Lowe’s clearance rack and boy did I score! Can’t wait to watch this grow in my landscape this summer.
