Introducing ‘Pink Crocodile’, another beautiful member of the pepper family, that sends out fine vines of heart-shaped leaves. Leaves are a glossy dark green with silvery-pink splashing along the veins, mimicking the pattern of a pink crocodile. From time to time, you may notice salt-like crystals on the purplish leaf undersides of your Piper crocatum; this is a natural exudate of excess sugars being released by your plant and nothing to worry about. Like other aroids and its namesake reptile, ‘Pink Crocodile’ prefers to bask in a warm, humid spot with medium, indirect or dappled light. A higher light situation will bring out the most contrasting pink details.

- Feed once per month at half strength when plant is actively growing.
- Protect furniture when watering.
- This plant can tolerate a variety of light conditions, but does best with bright indirect light. Avoid particularly shady areas.
- This plant prefers to be evenly moist, but not wet and needs to have good drainage. It can't take wet soil, but can tolerate periodic dryness.
- A well draining soil is essential and the plant should not be allowed to sit in water. Allow the top two inches to dry out before watering again. Do not let this plant dry out completely.
- All-purpose potting mixes with additional perlite, orchid bark, and sand added is a beneficial growing medium.
- This plant loves a little extra support to hold on to as it vines. Consider using a moss pole or trellis. This will help the plant grow new leaves faster as it vines.
