    Features

The improved Supertunia Vista Bubblegum II petunia is everything you’ve loved for decades about the original, but with brighter bubblegum pink flowers. What hasn’t changed: its massive size and vigor, an early bloom time, and self-cleaning flowers that don’t require deadheading to bloom non-stop from planting time until hard frost.

If you have grown Supertunia Vista Bubblegum through the years, you may have noticed that its flowers seemed to be getting brighter bubblegum pink. As we produce our stock each year, we have been selecting those that have the more intense pink color. This brighter pink version is Supertunia Vista Bubblegum II petunia. It’s everything you’ve enjoyed about the original, but with consistently bright bubblegum pink flowers.

    Maintenance Notes:

Supertunia® petunia plants are easy to grow and will flower non-stop from planting to hard frost if simple maintenance tasks are performed. Growing Supertunias in full sun to part sun is important for their strong growth and bloom performance. They do not require deadheading, meaning the removal of spent flowers, to stay in bloom all season.

Petunias thrive with consistent moisture. Do not let them wilt severely before watering again.

Supertunia petunias perform best when fed regularly with Proven Winners plant foods. At planting time, in containers and landscapes, mix Proven Winners Premium Continuous Release Plant Food into the soil, following the rates specified on the packaging. Reapply halfway through the growing season.

Additionally, Supertunias should be fed regularly with Proven Winners Premium Water Soluble Plant Food according to the rates specified on the packaging. For Supertunias growing in containers, feed every third time you water or at least once per week. For Supertunias growing in the ground, feed once every one to two weeks.

If you have been feeding your petunias regularly and they are getting enough sun and water but are not blooming, you may be dealing with petunia budworm. Learn more about this petunia pest.

By midsummer, it will be time to trim up your Supertunias. Trim the longest stems, bringing them in line with the others, taking care not to remove more than 20% of the plant. Trimming petunias in the landscape is not usually necessary but cutting them back by 20% can make the plants fuller. Follow up by feeding them with water soluble plant food to promote fresh new growth and blooms.

    • Just cut the new bubble gum back. Very sticky. Does not self clean. Please go back to the other bubble gum. Had no issues with the older variety. Thanks

    • Probably an unpopular opinion- vista bubblegum 2 is not an upgrade. I've trimmed twice now this season (it's only early June) because the growth habit is more sprawling and leggy like the other popular petunia brand vs mounding. The color is also more warm- almost neon instead of a true bubblegum pink. I had to double check tye tag to make sure I didn't actually get Jazzbery or Fushia. There are already so many hot colors in the Supertunia lineup. Why "fix" perfection and take away the most neutral pink you had? Unfortunately, PW has lost me on this one and the new Bordeaux

    • I love this plant. I have grown it for the last 3 years as a single plant in my 12 inch baskets. It gets so large and always looks good. I do put liquid fertilizer on it once a week as the summer moves on. Highly recommended! This is a thrifty plant as you only need one per basket. Saves me money.

    • This is the Grand Daddy of all petunias. Mine grew 4 feet wide with constant covering of blooms all summer. I've bought them the last 3 years and they always perform.
