I planted this hydrangea last summer (2022) and I am not really impressed a year later. The growth habit is nice and it does do well in its 6b, full sun location, but the flowers themselves are...just OK. There are a lot of them, but they never seem to stay pink aside from when they're just budding out; then they turn the dry green color almost immediately. Kind of lackluster.

Lusciously full mophead pink flowers are only one of the qualities that make Invincibelle Garnetta hydrangea so special. It also boasts supportive, sturdy stems (no blooms laying on the ground here!), a useful compact size, and reblooming ability for months instead of mere weeks of flowers. Blooming a bit later than the rest of the Invincibelle series, it's a fantastic season-extender.
Available in better garden centers in spring 2021.

Maintenance Notes:We recommend a minimum of six hours of sun for smooth hydrangeas like Invincibelle Garnetta for the strongest stems and the most abundant flowers. In hot climates, afternoon shade is beneficial, but some sun is still recommended for the best results.
Prune Invincibelle hydrangeas in early spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge on the stems. Remove any dead wood and cut the entire plant back by about one-third its total height. This helps to preserve the strong woody base while also encouraging new growth for the best blooming.
A 2-3" (5-7.6 cm) layer of shredded bark mulch helps shallow-rooted hydrangeas to conserve moisture and keep roots growing vigorously, which ensures the best performance. Fertilize in early spring, after the ground has thawed but before new growth begins, to ensure the best results.
Fun Facts:Smooth hydrangeas like Invincibelle Garnetta are native to North America - they grow wild in much of the central and southeastern U.S.
