    Maintenance Notes:

These plants are versatile working in both sun or shade, which makes them a wonderful unifiying plant to use in both sun and shade beds.  Unlike older begonias, these are quite vigorous.  They can tolerate some drought conditions, but will look their best with more consistent moisure and regular feeding.  They love the heat and are self cleaning so the plants look very clean. They do not need to be deadheaded to bloom all summer long.  What's not to love!

    • I am in North Texas, now considered a zone 8b. I purchased this plant in late spring, planted in full shade in a container on my back porch. It grew beautifully (tripled in size) and handled this summer's record breaking Texas heat like a champ!!! I wrote this review to show others that this plant can handle the Texas heat if grown in the shade. It blooms like crazy in the shade as well. I also want Proven Winners to know that my two plants, in a container, are still alive on December 28th! We have had 10 days with temperatures that have dropped into the 20's, and 12 days with temperatures 30-32 degrees!! Our lowest temp so far this season has been 23 degrees. Proven Winners' says this plant is zone 10-11, but I would say this plant would easily survive in zone 9 if it is in a slightly protected spot. Some of the stems are looking rough, but I still have nice green leaves and even a few flowers in these low temps! I absolutely LOVE this plant! I will be purchasing more for both containers and the landscape this spring.

    • Cannot handle Texas heat, sun, or any amount of drying. With regular watering and part shade in 9a this plant burned up. Did fine in the sping but the second summer hit, even with daily drip irrigation, every single one of these (14 total) collapsed under the heat.

    • Bloomed all season in three separate containers. Chickens think they're delicious, so be mindful of that. I would buy them again.
