Meet the “Super” Flowers

At Proven Winners, we offer a vast array of annuals, perennials and shrubs, though perhaps none are better known than what we fondly call our “Three Supers”: Superbells® Calibrachoa, Supertunia® Petunia and Superbena® Verbena. If you could only choose one Proven Winners variety for your sunny garden and containers this year, try one of these new Supers. You will be absolutely amazed by the beautiful garden performance they deliver from spring into fall.

Grower Tip: All of our "Supers" grow and bloom best when grown in full sun to part shade and are fed regularly with water soluble plant food. Detailed growing instructions can be found under the linked plant names below.

SUPERBELLS®

Superbells® Coralina Calibrachoa

The warm coral-pink colored flowers of this Superbells are vibrant, eye-catching and fun to use in mixed combination recipes. Like all Superbells, it doesn’t require deadheading to keep right on blooming and is disease resistant too. Try it in your hanging baskets, patio planters and combination containers.

Superbells® Grape Punch Calibrachoa

The huge flowers of this Superbells Punch variety blankets the plant in color. The black-purple eye and grape soda-colored petal edges will give you a mass of dramatic color all summer. It doesn’t require deadheading to keep right on blooming and is disease resistant too. Try it in your hanging baskets, patio planters and combination containers.


Superbells® Tropical Sunrise Calibrachoa

Splashes of yellow and pink lend a unique look to each and every flower of Superbells Tropical Sunrise. The ever-changing blooms will be a delight all season long. It doesn’t require deadheading to keep right on blooming and is disease resistant too. Try it in your hanging baskets, patio planters and combination containers.

     

Superbells® Red Calibrachoa
The deep red blooms of this Superbells will smother the plant in color all summer long. Combine the flowers with excellent habit and you have the perfect container plant. It doesn’t require deadheading to keep right on blooming and is disease resistant too. Try it in your hanging baskets, patio planters and combination containers paired with blue and white flowers for a patriotic look.

Superbells® Yellow Calibrachoa

The golden yellow blooms of this Superbells will bring a ray of sunshine to your garden on even the cloudiest of days.  A constant cascade of flowers will keep your sunny container gardens in color all summer long. Pair it with other primary colors and you’ll get a jolt of color in your hanging baskets, patio planters and combination containers. It doesn’t require deadheading to keep right on blooming and is disease resistant too.

 

SUPERTUNIA®

Supertunia® Picasso in Purple Petunia

This unique Supertunia features bicolor purple blossoms rimmed in green on beautifully mounded to trailing plants. It is a strong grower and blooms all season without deadheading. Try growing it as a colorful spiller in your combination containers and hanging baskets, or in the front of your sunny flower borders.

Supertunia® Really Red Petunia

Red is a common color in flowers and it tends to be fairly easy to find that true red color for most kinds of annual flowers. But not so with petunias, where red is one of the toughest colors to achieve. It took a long time, but we finally have a fantastic new true red Supertunia for you! It is a strong grower and blooms all season without deadheading. Try growing it as a colorful spiller in your combination containers and hanging baskets, or in the front of your sunny flower borders.

Supertunia® Vista Fuchsia Petunia

If you want a plant that will knock your socks off, this is the plant for you. Rich, vibrant fuchsia colored flowers grace plants that will mound to more than 18” tall and fill several square feet of space. It’s an all-summer blooming power house that will deliver the wow factor all season without deadheading. It is a great choice to plant in sunny landscapes. When planted in hanging baskets and large containers, you’ll have the neighbors asking what your magic recipe for success is! It’s great in combination recipes when paired with other vigorous plants.

SUPERBENA®

Superbena® Royale Romance Verbena

Sitting pretty in deepest burgundy, Superbena Royale Romance bears a plethora of large clusters of blossoms kissed with a hint of white in the center all summer without deadheading. The flowers completely cover the canopy of dark green, powdery mildew-resistant foliage. Superbena Royale Romance is easy to mix with other colorful annuals in combination containers and hanging baskets.

Superbena® Peachy Keen Verbena

Superbena® Royale Peachy Keen bears large clusters of salmon-peach flowers. As the flowers age they lighten, giving each plant the tri-color effect of vanilla cream, ginger and salmon. The colors work well with both warm colors like orange and cool colors like blue and lavender. The blooms completely cover the canopy of dark green, powdery mildew-resistant foliage all summer without deadheading. It is excellent spilling over the edge of combination planters and hanging baskets.
